The Robin

from Lost At Sea by James Hodder

/

lyrics

I am waiting in the garden
As the sun begins to rise
To hear the robin sing the blues
Bring me all the latest news
From far across the sky

Crow is calling in the distance
The wren is whistling by my side
I hear the hissing from the trees
As the wind blows through the leaves
I'm running out of time

Nightingale might try to fool me
But I've heard the joke before
Jackdaw doesn't take requests
He sticks to what he knows the best
He doesn't need applause

Magpie tries to steal the spotlight
But he doesn't know the tune
Hummingbirds can't hit the notes
The ones that really hurt the most
The robin brings me back to you

And if that bird don't sing
I will wait again for what tomorrow brings

I am waiting in the garden
For that robin to arrive
The morning light will pretty soon
Drift into the afternoon
And then will come the night
Then will come the night
How will I survive
